Hello to all sailing enthusiasts and lovers of far horizons,
My name is Chris, I’m 56, retired, and completely free to embark on the adventure of a lifetime: a circumnavigation around the world.
I own a Contest 48CS based in Cap d’Agde – I know this boat is a trustworthy companion, perfectly capable of crossing oceans with peace of mind. But I’m well aware that sailing alone on long passages can be demanding, both physically and mentally. That’s why I’d love to share this odyssey with an experienced woman crewmate who can bring her skills to the boat while creating a genuine harmony on board.
My plan is simple and heartfelt: a slow, progressive circumnavigation, taking the time to truly savour every step of the journey – from the Mediterranean coasts to exotic islands, across the great oceans. I’m in no hurry; the most important thing is to live fully, safely, and with kindness and empathy.
I picture shared watches, conversations under the stars, improvised meals made with local produce, and those quiet moments when you feel truly connected to the sea.
If other motivated crew members would like to join us for specific legs, the door is always open – an adventure is richer when it’s shared.
Above all, I’m looking for an accomplished woman sailor with solid offshore experience (ideally ocean crossings or long cruises), someone who can confidently handle manoeuvres, watch-keeping, and the unexpected with calm and efficiency.
But beyond the technical skills, I’m hoping to find someone who shares my belief that sailing is above all a human story – one of mutual trust, support through the tough moments, and shared joy in every victory.
No rush: we’ll take all the time we need to get to know each other before casting off.
