My name is Benoit, I am French and 33. Beginning of April I'm attending my cousin's wedding in Cuba. In order to lower my carbon footprint, and also because an Atlantic crossing must be an amazing experience, I'm looking for a boat as a novice crew member.
I have only 2 weeks of experience on a boat (1 week in Croatia and 1 week near Toulon, France) but I know I love it. Experienced in many mountain related activities (rock climbing, mountain biking, ski-touring...), I love to confront myself to wilderness. I think I am a very reliable person and know how to keep my calm even in tense situations. I'm usually pretty fast at picking-up things so I hope to learn a few things during this crossing. This might be my only big sailing experience so I really plan to invest myself and learn as much as I can.
I am pretty easy going, a bit introvert but pretty social and very funny (I think!) once you know me. I have a PhD in astrophysics, I'm a geek, vegetarian and I love to play guitar. I have to say, I mostly play jazz so I don't know many singing songs but I could learn a few :)
Finally, the only big constraint I have is the timing. This project is going to require me to take all of my holidays of 2020, and even with that, I am not sure it will be enough. Given that the wedding will be in Cuba the 11th of April, ideally I would depart a few days after that. I could join you by plane in Guadeloupe for example.
